Malibu and Tom Daley are back to spotlight the heightened risk of alcohol-related drownings in hot weather. This time we’re introducing heat-sensitive knitted trunks that change colour at 20°C. Why?
Because 1 in 4 drownings in the UK involves alcohol, and the risk of drowning is 5x higher when temperatures hit 20 degrees.
This summer, Tom’s colour-changing trunks are a simple but striking reminder that when temperatures rise, so do the risks of mixing alcohol and water.

July 25 is World Drowning Prevention Day a UN-recognized day to raise awareness about the risks of drowning.
To help shine a light on the issue and support our message around responsible drinking, we’ve teamed up with Tom Daley once again. This time with heat-sensitive knitted trunks that change colour as temperatures rise. It’s a bold reminder of the increased risk of alcohol-related drownings in hot weather.
Let’s keep each other safe by staying aware, drinking responsibly, and looking out for one another around water.
If you’ve been drinking alcohol, keep your fine self out of the water. Remember to always visit a lifeguarded venue and remember to follow the water safety code:

STOP AND THINK
If you’ve been sipping, don’t go dipping! If you’ve been drinking alcohol, stay away from the water. Plan a safe route home, away from water, before you head out.

STAY TOGETHER
Never get in the water or walk home alone after drinking alcohol: it’s way less fun, and far more dangerous.

CALL 999
In an emergency, call 999 immediately! Never enter the water to rescue someone else.

FLOAT
If you’re in trouble: stay calm, float on your back, and keep shouting for help! If you see anyone in trouble in the water, throw something in that floats to help them.
