Malibu Mangonada

Think of a rich bodied sorbet-inspired cocktail that’s both sweet and savoury with a kick of spice. The tropical taste of mango is perfectly balanced with the coconut taste of Malibu Original, while the lime juice balances out the sweetness, all finished off with the heat from the Tajín® Clásico Seasoning and Fruity Chamoy Sauce.

Malibu Original has the smooth taste of white rum and coconut flavour, which, when paired with the sweetness of the mango and the heat of the Tajín® Clásico Seasoning, gives this cocktail its signature tropical profile.

It’s easy! Simply pour the Tajín® Clásico Seasoning onto a small plate, rub a lime wedge around the glass, and then place the glass upside down on the plate and make small circles until the whole rim is covered with seasoning.

We find the simplest way to balance out the sweetness is to add a little more lime juice since the acidity adds a bit more tanginess. If you want it sweeter, add a little simple syrup.

It’s easy. Simply combine equal parts sugar and water in a saucepan, heat and stir, and allow to cool. Blend up some mango (pulp only) into a blender until smooth. Then combine both in a pitcher, stir and let it cool in the fridge. That’s it!

Sure! They’re not exactly the same though, so your drink will taste slightly different and have a thinner texture. Since mango nectar is a little sweeter, we recommend adding some simple syrup along with the mango juice in the mix.

Yes! For a stronger drink, we recommend reducing the quantity of Malibu Original by half and substituting the other half with Malibu Black. Enjoy responsibly.

Of course! This version is created without ice since all the ingredients are already chilled in the shaking process. But feel free to add some ice to the glass before pouring the mixture in. You can also chill your glass in the freezer before serving.

We think this is such a stunning drink on its own, but our favourite way of garnishing it is with a mango slice, since it brings out the taste of mango in the drink. If you don’t have fresh mango, a slice of lime will also do the trick.
